Exceed Physical Culture, Manhattan’s largest boutique functional fitness gym, recently signed a lease at 97 Reade Street.

The gym took 2,026 s/f on the ground floor with 2,226 s/f on the lower level and 1,406 s/f of sub cellar space.

This will be Exceed Physical Culture’s third location with its other gyms situated on the Upper East Side and in East Hampton, NY. The asking rent for 97 Reade Street was $300,000 per annum.

Exceed Physical Culture was started in 2012 by Catherine Goodwin and celebrity trainer, Ed Cashin.

“Our Upper East Side and East Hampton locations pull from all over New York City, and we were excited to find a great spot in Tribeca that could further service our clients in the city,ˮ said Goodwin.

Exceed Physical Culture was represented by Adam Weinblatt and Brandon Berger, of Zelnik & Company.

The landlord was represented by Jeremy Modest, of Ripco Real Estate. “With its first Manhattan location situated on the Upper East Side at 1477 Third Avenue, Exceed Physical Culture saw a great opportunity to fill a void of specialty fitness studio’s in the TriBeCa submarket,” said Weinblatt.

Previously home to Bell Bates Natural Food, Exceed Physical Culture will open its new space in May 2014.
